Welcome Message

International Conference on Electronic Commerce '98

It is with great pleasure that we extend our warmest greetings to everyone attending ICEC '98, the International Conference on Electronic Commerce '98, being held for the first time in Seoul, Korea in April 6 -9, 1998. We would also like to take this opportunity to welcome the delegates who have traveled to Korea to take part in this important event. Seoul in April is a wonderful experience, offering both breathtaking spring scenery and Korean hospitality. For both first-time and return visitors, Seoul is always delightful to explore.

The Organizing Committee has worked diligently to provide you with a venue and supporting events that will make this a memorable, professional and personal experience. The Scientific Committee had the difficult job of reviewing submissions from around the world to create an outstanding program reflecting the most current research and development activities in the field of electronic commerce.

This gathering will provide you with an excellent forum for the exchange of ideas on the latest developments in electronic commerce and related fields. Today's market demands dedication and innovation as well as the ability to adapt new technologies, products and services. For our guests from industry, this conference will provide the opportunity to evaluate current practices and identify trends that will make you more competitive in the global market place.

We believe that we have collaborated to offer the most professionally challenging and personally inviting programs. We look forward to stimulating discussions in various aspects of electronic commerce, and wish you an enjoyable and productive experience at ICEC '98.

Sincerely,

Jae Kyu Lee (Professor in Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Seoul, Korea)
